Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside actor Finn, who featured in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by reports.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
