Former BBC specialists speaking at Members of Parliament

We start with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that chairs the group.

She initiates by giving details to the leaked document prepared by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.

"I don't want the BBC tilting toward one side or the other, I just want it straight, impartial and equitable," he says.

Upon being questioned if he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, he replies: "No I don't. It is important to note, a great deal the BBC creates is world class - including informative and entertainment content."

But he adds: "There exists substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the BBC."

A further former external British Broadcasting Corporation adviser interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "continuous process and active debate" across dynamic and complex topics.

"Whether the BBC was prepared to engage in a thorough dialogue and argument and take action?" she asks herself. "In my view, yes they were."
