Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates features text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , following recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Striking in those games was the number of penalties each conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this Sunday.
However it was positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to have the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game by four points.
Denver boast the top defender with cornerback their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.
They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing extra defenders but they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly and did a good job of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?
New TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).
It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.
That shows how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.
This has benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.
His strengths include his movement, being able to pass on the run, and using varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
If you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the success Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this path.
They excel at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.
Ever since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
After this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.
This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
