England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
